West Waterford Poets

There is a vibrant and multifaceted arts scene throughout Co. Waterford, with many disciplines and many disciples. There is no border between East and West Waterford! Poets may move freely, and often do. There is, however, a major conurbation clustered in the East (a City indeed) which due to its density of population, number of venues, and frequency of events, tends (quite rightly) to attract a lot more attention and exposure than the sleepy goings-on in the West. The sun rises for us all, but it lingers with the West Waterford Poets just that little bit later. Out of respect for their sundowning soliloquys, evening elegies, and late night laconics, this unofficial directory of unsung bards lists writers of poems who are (or have been, or have expressed a desire to be) associated with the warm and wild West of Ireland's only County Waterford.
